Shopping!

The other day I picnic’d with some Moms for Mother’s Day and by the time I left I had a serious case of the “I wants”. The Moms had some of coolest Mommy gadgets that I don’t have, yet clearly need.
I’m not really a high maintenance kinda Mama. ok, that isn’t exactly true, I am high maintenance in terms of toys I can tolerate, and I buy stupidly expensive soap for the kids even though Ivory is perfectly fine for both Steve and I. And I’ll pay $5 for 2 L of organic milk. BUT in terms of other gear I’m fine with what I’ve been given. Callum and I managed just fine without any fancy sling, stroller or other gadgets and he’s a perfectly normal and well adjusted kid.
Now I don’t want to manage, I just want. Want! Want! Want!
So I bought.
I picked up a Hooter Hider which is FABULOUS, if ridiculously overpriced for a piece of material. Because I am so utterly spoiled Auntie Fearthainn bought me this :) . I also picked up a Peanut Shell sling which I am still trying to get the hang of, but I was dying to have a sling. I have a baby bjorn but I find that because the babe is right in front you tend to whack them over the head if you’re trying to do anything.
We also picked up Callum some Kid Bandz and a larger swimmer since the weather has finally decided to co-operate and provide us with weather that matches the season.
We went to Kradles Baby Boutique in Courtenay, a dangerous little jewel of a store. We also went to Uptown Yarns, another dangerous little jewel of a store and I picked up a stash of Debbie Bliss Cashmirro for a steal.
Overall, I’m pleased.
