One Local Summer::Week 5

Even though I was out of town camping by a gorgeous lake and away from the computer, I still made a local meal last week! This time, instead of having my salmon, potatoes, and peppers seperately, I put them in tinfoil and cooked them on the fire. Yes, I’m crazy like that. It was surprisingly tasty.

I also learned that you don’t make bread on a hot day. It gets all yeasty tasting and that isn’t nice.

    Now that our local farmers market is open and we have some local AB food I have also made it my quest to eat more locally and have one meal a week locally. However I’m not really sure how far away the milk comes from so I will have to just let that go.

    I’m lucky on the milk front, since we have a huge dairy farm in Comox Valley that is sold in all our groceries. Makes it easy.
