Craft :: Travel Bags

I made the kid’s some travel bags because they didn’t have any and any bag I liked was $200. I had an entire post all about it, with some very good advice thrown in for good measure but I lost it in a tired stupor. Here’s the bags:

This is perfectly normal, right? This over-crafting right before a big family trip? Right?
Because tomorrow there’s another post coming about more. Oh yes, there was more crafting… stay tuned!
oh, and note the piping. That’s right, I piped. My Mom tells me this is impressive so I’m pointing it out. heh.

    Those look amazing, did you have a pattern? Can I get it. I would love to make something like that!

  2. Amber Amber says:

    It is a pattern of my own design!
    (if you call a rectangle a pattern. And I do.) :)
    I can give you the dimensions if you want – but honestly, its a rectangle that I sewed a zipper into a canvas strap around.

    What about the ends and the piping?

  4. Amber Amber says:

    you mean directions on how to put the piping on?

  5. Laura says:

    Okay, wait. You have time for all this crafting … AND sex? And Claire doesn’t go to sleep as easily as Gwen? AND you have an older kid, too?
    … I am clearly doing something wrong.

    I craft in the evenings, between like 10 and 11:30 pm usually. Occassionally I can get some in during the morning if the kids will allow it. Sewing is kinda awesome, it’s fast.
    One good thing is that Claire sleeps through the night, so after the initial drama, she’s out ;) !
